As part of the PrimePrevention project (predicting marine biological hazards to prevent socio-economic impacts), an online workshop was held on November 26, 2024 to specifically involve interested stakeholders from practice. The aim of the workshop was to present the automated measurement system planned in PrimePrevention for monitoring toxic algal blooms and to discuss the needs of various user groups for the system. In the first part of the workshop, the system to be developed in PrimePrevention for monitoring toxic algal blooms was presented.
In the second part, the technical requirements and needs of the stakeholders for a corresponding measurement system were discussed, such as:
(i) timely evaluation for rapid action,
(ii) a low-interference and user-friendly design,
(iii) the economic viability of use, and
(iv) the comprehensibility and usability for practitioners.
We would like to thank all participants of the workshop for their valuable suggestions, critical reflection and constructive exchange!
